Am I eligible for a fee waiver?

If you are a high school junior or senior and can't afford the registration fee for the SAT or ACT, you may be eligible for a Fee Waiver.

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. You currently attend high school as a junior or senior
  1. You are eligible or enrolled in the school free or reduced-priced lunch program.
  2. You are a participant of a federal TRIO program (ETS, Upward Bound, etc.)

If you are eligible, you may use a maximum of two fee waivers per test (SAT, SAT Subject, ACT). The waiver is used once you register, even if you do not test on the requested test date.

Fee waivers cover only the basic registration fee for your test option.

Waivers do not cover the late registration fee, test date or test center changes, standby fee, or any other services.

You cannot request a fee waiver directly from College Board or ACT; you must come to the NHS College & Career Center.

Once you receive a Fee Waiver Form, follow the "Student Directions" on it for your registration method.

PSAT

The 2009-2010 PSAT will be taking place on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. All 10th graders will be taking this exam. 9th graders are strongly encouraged to take the exam since it prepares you for the SAT. 11th graders who take the exam will be eligible to compete for the National Merit Scholarships awarded in their senior year. Fee waivers will be available for eligible 11th graders. The cost of the exam is $15.

All students are strongly encouraged to take this important exam. It is a formal practice test that prepares for the SAT. The SAT or the ACT are tests that students must take in order to be considered for admission to most four year colleges or universities.
